another year older

On saturday I celebrated my 26th Birthday, I had a party with some family and a few friends outside on our new decking. It was such a lovely day, we where very lucky with the weather as on friday the weather forecast was pretty grim for a garden party.
Saturday morning started out rather overcast, with a light drizzle of rain, but come lunch time the sun managed to make an appearance.
As you probably know if you read my blog regularly, I was was going for a pretty village fete theme, and with a little help from family and from my friend Lesley who kindly let me me borrow some tables a benches that she hires out as part of her business, it turned out to be just that.
So I thought I show you some pictures (courtesy of Lesley)

I'd like that idea for our wedding party. But I'm gonna have to wait until next Spring now, we've missed the wedding boat this time round.

  9. It all seems so fantastical. Growing up in rural/urban United States, I never witnessed a garden party. It looks beautiful, just like out of the scene of a movie. Congrats on the nice weather and achieving another year!

  10. The prettiest pary I've ever seen! Wonderful Jess, very many happy returns.

I reckon you should team up with your bench hire friend and rent out your china if you could bear it. I bumped into this lady (www.traditionalflower.co.uk) at the 40s steam day at our village station and she's doing a fair trade up here hiring out crockery for weedings.

Do you think I can convince Woody to marry me all over again?

    Have a lovely week.

  17. Hi there, I am hosting a book swap over on my blog. It is a permanent feature, which will always be on my blog, it is not a one off, like the rose theme swap I'm hosting. I have listed a load of my books which I am willing to swap, take a look, there may be some you fancy. If you would like to list books which you no longer want, and are willing to swap, just contact me at rosehyacinth@hotmail.co.uk, or leave a comment on my blog, with your name, the name of your blog and the books you wish to swap, and I will type them up and post them on the swap page, so the more and more people who participate, the wider the range of books there will be to choose from, and remember, it will always be there on my blog.

Thank you so much for making the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate every one (even if I don't manage to reply to them all - I tend to get sidetracked quite easily) and it always brings a little smile to my face when I discover one in my inbox.
